IRCTC Registration Sign Up and IRCTC Login
Having a new account in IRCTC through IRCTC registration process reduces the effort which we have been putting to book railway window ticket.
IRCTC New Registration is required to book the ticket using IRCTC online. Without doing “IRCTC registration” or IRCTC Sign Up, Railway does not allow to book a ticket, in fact it does not allow any single service like PNR Status Check, Train Enquiry, Train Schedule, IRCTC Availability, TDR Filing, Premium Tatkal Service, Retiring Room Booking, Cancelling a Ticket etc at all.
Every Indian should have an account in IRCTC as people all using very much familiar with the internet nowadays. 70% people having mobile, smartphones nowadays and having internet facility in their mobile for using WhatsApp especially ;), there are IRCTC apps are available to book a ticket or check PNR status from smartphones easily.
Here I am going to explain the process for IRCTC New Registration / IRCTC Sign Up Create New Account
IRCTC New Registration is very simple and easy. If you are new user in IRCTC system then you need to create a new account, to create a new account in IRCTC click here
You need to fill correct and relevant information in the IRCTC New Registration form because if you will irrelevant information then your account will be treated as spam and your account might be deleted by the IRCTC Management team so be aware of the details you are going to fill in the form.
IRCTC Registration / IRCTC Sign Up Process
Below are the 7 Steps to Register in IRCTC
- Step1: (Go to official website)
- Step2: (Enter username and password)
- Step3: (Enter other personal details)
- Step4: (Submit the form)
- Step5: (Accept the IRCTC terms and conditions)
- Step6: (Successfully registered)
- Step7: (Email/mobile verification)
Let’s start IRCTC Registration Form / IRCTC Sign Up Form Filling Process now:
First, go to this URL and click on the sign-up link available at left to the big Login button. Now you will be redirected to the IRCTC Registration form as shown below, thereafter following below 7 steps in order to create an account.
Step1: (Go to Official Website)
Register at www.irctc.co.in to create a new account, now you will be redirected to the IRCTC Login Registration form as shown below, thereafter follow the below mentioned 6 more steps in order to create an account.
In the above form you can see the following fields:
Personal Details
User Id: It is a unique id which you must provide to hold an IRCTC account. Please enter the username here, one which you can easily remember.
IRCTC User id Example
For example, my name is Ankit so I’d prefer entering username such as ‘ankit2015‘
Security Questions: A security question is a mandatory field and very useful for resetting forgotten password. Sometimes it happens that you forget your password so with this feature you can reset your password by answering the security question.
Select the security question and enter the rememberable answer in the text field.
First/Last Name: Enter your first name and last name in this field. You can change this later.
Gender: Enter your gender here. Be careful about this field because this field value can not be changed later.
Marital Status: Select the correct value as applicable to you. This value can be changed later.
DOB: Enter your correct date of birth here.
Other Details
Occupation: Enter your occupation here by selecting the value such as Government, Private, Professional etc.
Aadhar Card: It is not mandatory to enter Aadhar Card number but if you have, then please enter.
Email Id: It is a very important field. You must enter the valid email id here as it is very useful to identify you in the IRCTC system. Also needed for resetting your password in future.
Mobile: Enter valid 10 digits mobile number here. This mobile will be verified through OTP (One Time Password) so re-verify it before submitting the form.
Nationality: Select the value as India always.
Residential Address, Flat/House Number, Country, PIN number, State, City: Enter your full residential address and other details. These all values can be changed later.
Captcha Image Text: It is an image containing text which asks the user to enter a correct value before submitting the form. This concept stops any virus/spam to enter the IRCTC Registration system.
Step2: (Enter Username and Password)
Enter a username and password in this step.
UserId is the user’s Unique ID it is required for IRCTC to identify you in their system and required by you to login to their system.
Password – Enter a rememberable password. Please note Password must contain at least one capital character.
Step3: (Enter other personal details)
Go ahead and fill all the details Security Questions and answers, First name, Last name, Gender, Marital Status, DOB, Occupation, Aadhar Card, Email Id, Mobile, Nationality, Address, Country, PIN number, State, City.
Note: When you reach at the ‘Mobile‘ field, enter correct mobile number because verification code will be sent for confirmation.
Step4: (Submit the Form)
When all done then simply click on Submit button.
Now submit the form by clicking on Submit Registration Form.
After clicking on Submit button, one pop-up will appear that will say-
‘You email id is……’ and ‘Mobile number is…..’ will be validated. Press OK to continue.
Now re-verify both and press OK button.
Step5: (Accept the IRCTC terms and conditions)
The system might present Terms and Conditions click on ‘I Agree Term And Conditions‘ button proceed.
Step6: (Successfully Registered)
After verifying your mobile number and Email id (on click of the link you received in IRCTC email) you will become a New member of IRCTC system and your IRCTC New Registration process is completed now :)
Step7: (Email/Mobile Verification)
Now check your mail id and mobile message box, you should get one OTP in email and verification code in mobile.
Note down both on a paper which you got in your email inbox and in your mobile number.
After successfully IRCTC signs up/registered with IRCTC you will be able to use following services:
- e-Ticket booking
- i-Ticket booking
- File TDR services (Ticket Deposit Services)
- Cancel Ticket
- PNR Status Check
- Train Schedules Check
- IRCTC Flight Services
- Premium Tatkal

How to Login into IRCTC Using Created Username and Password Above?
Step1: (Go to login page)
Click here for IRCTC Login. A login form contains fields for username, password and captcha field as shown below.
Step2: (Type username and password)
Enter your username you created in above IRCTC New Registration process then followed by password and captcha and click on Login button.
How to Verify IRCTC Registered Mobile Number and Email Id?
After clicking on the submit button user will have to verify their mobile number and email id through OTP.
- Click on “Verify Mobile No with OTP‘ and enter OTP (one time password) which you got on your mobile.
- Same for Email Id OTP, this OTP you will get in your email id.
Step3: (IRCTC login plan my travel, Book the ticket here)
That’s all. You are done! you can see the home page of IRCTC now and by using ‘Plan My Journey‘ option you can book the ticket.

How to Register in IRCTC Through Mobile App IRCTC Connect
Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Download IRCTC Connect App from google Play.
- Click on IRCTC Connect App in order to open it.
- Observe that REGISTER button and click on it
Fill all the fields value which all are mentioned in below image.
- Fill your correct mobile number and email id then clicks on NEXT button.
- Now verify your mobile number and given email id and you are done with the registration.
Problem: Sometimes you might get the error “wrong credentials” while logging into the system. wrong credentials mean in irctc is that either you entered wrong username or password.
Solution: The solution of it is Re-verify your username and password, if it is correct then click on forget password link to reset your password then use the new password.

If you have forgotten Username/Password both then search very first email you got from IRCTC into your email id, get the username from this email and click on this link to reset your password.
Note: If you have lost your registered number also then You must remember security question’s answer to reset it.

But can you answer few of the questions? if you do not have any account in IRCTC.
1. If you wanna track your old booked ticket history then how you will check?
2. If you lost your e-ticket then how will you send another SMS by your self in your mobile?
3. If you wanna cancel your ticket then will you do it? if you do not have an account.
There are many questions to be asked. But for now can you answer those? Any web application which do some transaction must have Sign Up activity to track the user activities and their records.

When i am trying to login the website mentions “As you have been migrated to Next Generation e-Ticketing website of IRCTC. Please login through http://www.irctc.co.in“.
The login page is the next generation website but as the password is entered, the older version of website appears “services.irctc.co.in…….”.
Was there any procedure / click required to migrate to next gen website?

No. if you will login then new version only will display.
But if you are existing user and you are trying to RESET your password then you will be navigated on older version to reset your password.
It seems you are trying to reset your password is it ?

No i am not trying to reset the password. It is just that i am logging after a long time.
The first page is the new website. However after logging in it takes to the 2nd password page (of the order website). After again entering the password it mentioned “you have migrated ….”

ID has been suspended because of no use since long and to reduce load of irrelevant records which has not been used for long.

There is only one option to get it resolved.
Agar apka mobile number kisi or ko mil gya h to use call kare or OTP send usse puchiye. Uske baad Login kigiye IRCTC me then go to My Profile–>Update Profile and change your mobile number here.

Need to remove the previously registered account information
I have created an account long before. Now I have forgotten the old account. I have created a new account. While creating I faced many difficulties such as
1. I was unable to give the same mail address as mentioned in the previous account which I have forgotten.
2. The mobile number. When I registered the new account with the same mobile number, it was said that “The mobile number is already in use of other account”.
Please try to remove my previous account information so I can use the current account in ease.
My mail-id is riddhi_jn89@yahoo.com (personal, not registered with IRCTC) so I could send the required details in order to remove the previous account details.

As data can not be deleted once saved. Its a government project so nobody has privilege to delete anything from data base.
You will have to use another email id and mobile number to create new account.
BTW if you know your username then please do share here i’ll reset password on behalf of you.

1) Did you make any attempts but it got failed because of session issue on earlier occasions which you have now forgotten?
2) Try to use the forgot password option to retrieve the password (this will work if you had earlier registered with IRCTC).
3) See you email accounts inbox or spam folder for any old emails received from IRCTC confirming registration.

Yes Hikmat its correct. There is a problem in IRCTC registration.
We have two solution for this:
1st – Either call to IRCTC customer care and get it resolved. Or
2nd – Create new User ID with new email id which is not registered.

Login into http://www.irctc.co.in and click ‘My Profile–>Update Profile‘ link.
System will ask to enter password once again, please enter your password.
Now you can see your existing details with your current email id. Change it and Update the form once again. You are done!

Many new users are facing this problem. Here is the reason why you get this error.
Whenever you fill the form and clicks on Submit button then some times it says “Few mandatory fields are not filled at all” at this time userid gets registered in IRCTC portal and when you fill all the required fields and submits the form again then you get th error “User id already registered”
Solution of this is:
1. Create new user id by changing the username.
2. Call to the IRCTC 24×7 customer care and tell the problem.

After entering verification code in irctc new registration form nothing is appearing except “MOBILE NUMBER ENTERED IS ALREADY REGISTERED” and verification code reappears.All the required data have been filled in the form.Eventhough, I am unable to create new account in IRCTC.Kindly help me in this regard.

Hello Siddharth,
Its very easy to get it back if you remember your registered email id.
Login into gmail account and search for ‘IRCTC’ and find the first mail IRCTC sent to you with your Userid and Password.

Hello Niraj, it means your gmail id should be in below format:
For example:
niraj@gmail.com
How it is of 3 letter see:
1st letter: niraj
2nd letter: @
3rd letter: gmail.com
