Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant is responsible for the timely preparation of periodic cost & financial reports, full accounting support for all aspects of the Plant operations interfacing with all levels of operations and the corporate structure of the company as necessary. This position will be integral in the delivery of plant-specific critical key financial information to the management of Saputo Dairy Products Canada.

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Preparation and presentation of weekly and period-end cost & financial reports that record actual costs versus budgeted costs broken out in various levels of detail.
• Analyze and Report on the Daily Operational KPIs. Including – Milk Loss Performance, Identifiable Losses, Expense Tracking, Labour Tracking, Downtime Tracking, and Operational Run Rates.
• Responsible for Plant Inventory accuracy and monthly cycle counts.
• Update / Create Bill of Materials
• Provide backup support for Milk Balancing entries, Kronos-related tasks, and Accounts Payable tasks.
• Provide support for continuous & process improvement.
• Provide analytical/accounting/coordination support to aid the Finance Manager in the preparation of annual forecasts and budgets.
• Empower team members regarding Saputo culture.
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
• Other duties as assigned

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Designation or Degree in Finance/Accounting/Cost Accounting.
• 5 to 7 years of accounting and analyst experience with a preference for a manufacturing environment.
• Sound computer skills with proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated, results-oriented and possess a high degree of initiative, and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge and experience of SAP assets.

• Good organizational skills, versatility, responsibility, initiative, and discretion.
