DESCRIPTION

Position Responsibilities:

Design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable wired, wireless and content networking and device services. Document designs and solutions and review with stakeholders. Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and issues that may impair the team’s ability to deliver. Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span multiple services, teams, and locations. Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make device, network and fleet operations more efficient. Drive continuous improvements with the team’s processes. Respond to large scale events involving these networks or fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers.

Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization. Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support network infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL, Splunk) using Window, Linux or Unix based operating systems and SQL, Splunk Server databases.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Position Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Systems Administrator, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master’s degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services; experience with programming languages including C, C++, Java, SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby; and troubleshooting systemic problems in a Windows, RTOS, Linux, or Unix based environment.
