The Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for Data Center Technicians to take AWS Data Centre Operations to the next level. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
You will launch cutting-edge server technologies and solve diverse networking impairments. You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure issues, which requires a good understanding of computers, servers, switches and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective and a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology.
To be successful in this role, you should possess technical aptitude with fiber optic and copper cabling, written and oral communications skills, and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. In addition, you must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability. You will be able to leverage your experience by exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.

You will be responsible for launching cutting-edge server technologies and resolving various networking issues. You will quickly and accurately assess a wide range of infrastructure-related issues, which requires a good understanding of computers, servers, switches, and various networking devices from both a hardware and software perspective.
To be successful in this role, you must have technical skills in fiber optic and copper cabling, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. Additionally, you must have strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability. You will be able to draw on your experience by exercising high levels of initiative, judgment, and diplomacy.
This position requires the selected candidate to obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 1+ years of relevant technical experience
- Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a personal vehicle between company locations regularly.
- Candidates should be able to lift up to 50lbs and or work in elevated locations.
- Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7.
- Must have the ability to read/write/speak/communicate fluently (English) with respect to complex technical instructions and concepts.
Basic skills :
- 2-year college diploma, or more than one year of relevant technical experience.
- Valid driver’s license; This position requires regularly driving a personal vehicle between different company sites;
- The candidate must be able to lift loads of up to 22 kg (50 lbs) and work in elevated spaces;
- Be available to work in a 24/7 environment.
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate fluently in English using instructions and complex technical concepts. .
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
- Datacenter experience
- Network switch configurations and troubleshooting experience
- Understanding of server operating systems, Linux-based troubleshooting such as firmware flashes, and bios configurations
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting the replacement of defective hardware components such as motherboards, backplanes, power supply units, CPUs, controllers, memory, hard drives, JBOD, and CMOS
- Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metric
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
Desirable skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field;
- Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, etc.);
- Datacenter experience;
- Network switch configuration and troubleshooting experience;
- Understanding of server operating systems, Linux-based troubleshooting, firmware reprogramming, and bios configurations;
- Diagnose and troubleshoot the replacement of faulty hardware components such as motherboards, backplanes, power supplies, processors, controllers, memory, hard drives, JBODs and CMOS;
- Experience in managing tickets and extracting performance metrics;
- Meet or exceed Amazon’s Leadership Principles requirements for this role;
- Meet or exceed Amazon’s functional and technical skill requirements for this role.
