Building Manager, Colocation Data Center Operation / Data Center Facility Manager

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly and is looking for a Building Manager to join its growing Data Center Operations team.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced, world-leading data center technology company. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the operation of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of multiple buildings in co-location environments. The Building Manager helps maintain a high level of reliability and performance while keeping facility operating costs to a minimum. The equipment supported are critical servers and must maintain an availability time greater than 99,999%. This position will ensure adherence to co-location Service Level Agreements through the implementation of proactive problem detection and reporting in a fast-paced environment, in addition to prioritizing complex issues.
This position requires the selected candidate to obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in the field of mechanics or electricity;
- At least 5 years of experience in a personnel management position with direct reports;
- Strong understanding of data center electrical and mechanical systems including generators, transformers, power distribution and switch cabinets, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), power distribution panels (PDUs), pumps, ventilation and air conditioning units, and data center air conditioners (CRACs);
- At least 5 years of experience in the fields of electricity and mechanics;
- More than 3 years of work experience in critical environments and more specifically in the operation of buildings and equipment;
- Be familiar with building supervision and control systems (BMS), electrical energy management (EPMS), and data trend analysis;
- Be able to work in a 24/7 environment with the ability to be able to provide after-hours support as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English;
- Since this role requires the employee to interact with other Amazon entities globally as well as with employees and stakeholders in other Canadian provinces, knowledge of French and English is required for this position. job.

- 3+ years of experience working in mission critical environments with an emphasis on building and equipment operation;
- Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to provide after-hours support as needed;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English;
- Due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.

- Experience in managing diverse teams and executives;
- At least 7 years of experience working in data centers and more specifically in the operation of buildings and equipment.
