We are looking for a Data Scientist based in Montreal, Quebec. Our Data Scientists create and propose innovative solutions using machine learning to support our business at Locala. This role reports to the VP of Engineering located in Paris.

Your role:

• Contribute to the creation of decision-making systems or decision support systems, which are integral to the company’s offerings.
• Understand business needs and model them in the form of mathematical problems of prediction or optimization
• Propose innovative solutions, using machine learning or classical statistical models, that respect industrial constraints, in particular for the management of large volumes of data (time, cost)
• Describe and implement the corresponding assessment protocols
• Participate in the collection of data to improve the quality of the models
• Diligently document and communicate your achievements, paying particular attention to the accessibility of the presentation to the audience
• Communicate any obstacles or other challenges that may impede your work to management
• Maintain a courteous attitude towards fellow team members and people from outside the organization.

You have:

• An understanding of distributed systems would be an asset
• A specialization (for example: deep learning, clustering, geographic data processing) is a plus
• A good command of the basics of Python programming. Experience with Java and Scala is an asset
• Good communication skills in French a plus

Your missions:
