Job Description

Job Duties

  • Maintain up-to-date references for product revisions using the Yanfeng Change Management Process.
  • Prepares Production Part Approval Process submissions to the Customer. Coordinate with Materials and Production departments to ensure effective, on-time implementation.
  • Understand full build processes.
  • Follow through with vendor processing of changes to implement changes according to plan.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or brown lines, verifying product compliance by utilizing various measurement tools.
  • Develop or approve appropriate forms for data acquisition from inspection operations.
  • Coordinate the engineering build of development samples to verify proposed changes.
  • Assist with the training of the Quality Auditors in their duties.
  • Controls product quality through the development and use of Failure Mode & Effects Analyses, control plans, flow charts, Statistical Process Controls, Operator Description Sheets, Quality Alerts, and creating quality gates into the production assembly process.
  • Promote safety and positive communications between the Quality Department Plant Personnel, Corporate personnel, and the Customers.
  • Access Customer databases (GQTS, SKPI, Ford, Chrysler) on a daily basis.
  • Present Corrective Actions to the customer as required to ensure any BSR or other issues do not occur repeatedly.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce rework and scrap
  • Sets up supplier rework, and containment, and reviews non-conforming parts.
  • Trains the production teams on defect recognition and quality procedures. This includes creating boundary samples.
  • Responsible for all assembly quality issues. When quality issues occur is responsible for containment, segregating the non-conforming material, and root causing any issues.
  • Represents Yanfeng Mississauga to our customers and vendors, including quality-related supplier visits and other contacts as approved by the Quality Manager.
  • Monitor assembly operations to determine compliance with Customers’ statistical process control requirements to maintain the process within control limits.
  • Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Quality Manager.
  • Coordinates TS16949/Q1 initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Experience working in Quality Assurance, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with ISO/AIAG standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Engineering.
  • Educational background in Quality Control/Assurance is considered an asset.

Compensation

  • $60,000 – $70,000 per year.
