Job Summary

Black & Veatch Deutschland GmbH has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer in Wiesbaden office. Under supervision from senior civil engineers, the candidate performs routine aspects of civil engineering. Applicant applies knowledge of civil engineering principles to prescribed departmental techniques and procedures to complete civil design assignments. Applicant designs civil aspects for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. In addition, work with utilities to produce utility civil coordination drawings for new services.

Der Bewerber bearbeitet zivilrechtliche Aspekte für Ladestationen für Elektrofahrzeuge (EV). Arbeiten Sie außerdem mit Versorgungsunternehmen zusammen, um Pläne für die zivile Koordinierung von Versorgungsunternehmen für neue Dienste zu erstellen.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations, including EV stations deployment
• Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering and design software
• Preparing engineering deliverables such as calculations, reports, specifications, and studies
• Estimating material, construction, and labor costs, and project timescales
• Testing installations and systems, and analyzing data
• Making sure projects meet civil and construction safety regulations
• Overseeing inspection and maintenance programs
• Performing routine research and develops recommendations for civil design and/or materials
• Attending meetings, writing reports and giving presentations to managers and clients
• Coordinating with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership
• Focuses on the needs and drivers of internal and external clients
• Provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
• Perform quality assurance/ quality control activity.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in similar role
• Knowledge of civil engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
• EV industry knowledge and technology trends.
• Knowledge of the company quality program.
• Knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications and their use (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience designing EV infrastructure is an advantage
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
• Fluent German and English languages.
• Relevant certifications in civil engineering
• Knowledge of local engineering /construction code
• Experience with quality engineering control

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
Abgeschlossenes Studium des Bauingenieurwesens oder einer verwandten Fachrichtung.
• Mindestens 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in ähnlicher Funktion
• Kenntnis der Entwurfsprinzipien des Bauingenieurwesens und anwendbarer Entwurfsleitfäden und -normen in Bezug auf die zugewiesene Ingenieursrichtung.
• Wissen über die EV-Branche und Technologietrends.
• Kenntnis des betrieblichen Qualitätsprogramms.
• Kenntnis von Konstruktions- und Konstruierbarkeitspraktiken und -prinzipien.
• Kenntnisse von MS Office-Anwendungen und deren Verwendung (z.B. Excel, Word, Power Point, Bluebeam usw.).
• Starke Kommunikations- und zwischenmenschliche Fähigkeiten
• Erfahrung im Design von EV-Infrastruktur ist von Vorteil
• Fähigkeit, effektiv zu planen, zu terminieren, zu koordinieren und Probleme zu lösen
• Fließende Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
• Relevante Zertifizierungen im Bauingenieurwesen
• Kenntnis der lokalen Ingenieur-/Bauvorschriften
• Erfahrung mit qualitätstechnischer Kontrolle

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 3 year related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
