Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a soda ash and salt producing company situated on Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. 

Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool and golf course. There are also excellent private and government pre-primary, primary and secondary schools.

Job Summary

The major role of the incumbent will be to teach the “whole child” by attending to the intellectual, emotional and physical development of the students.

minimum requirement

We are looking for a dynamic, results oriented and self-driven teacher with a Degree in Primary Education. A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in an English Medium School environment will be an added advantage. Having a remedial/Special Education qualification or experience will also be an added advantage. The incumbent must be willing to participate in all school activities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

v Preparing lessons that reflect best practices and accommodate for individual differences of students.

v Planning a program of study that; as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

v Creating a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning and teaching and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

v Striving to implement, by instruction and action, the company’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

Key Skills

v Administrative and interpersonal skills.

v Computer literate and able to use at least Microsoft Word and Excel.

v Have previous experience in remedial teaching in the Junior Primary.

v Knowledge of Letterland is essential.

v Must be able to coach any of the following: Netball, Soccer, Hockey, Swimming, Tennis, Softball, Athletics, Cricket and Chess.
