Job Description

The Bronx Brewery Hudson Yards (BXBHY) is looking to hire an entrepreneurial and process-driven Events & Programming Manager to develop and oversee Hospitality events and programming strategy across our Hudson Yards locations. The ideal candidate will employ their skills to assist the brand in using beer, bites, art, and music to build community and foster a culture of excellence with an unrelenting focus on quality. This role will encompass all aspects of branded and private event recruitment and organization as well as programming to achieve revenue goals and further our respective revenue and margin goals as well as brand missions and values.


The Events & Programming Manager will report directly to The Bronx Brewery’s General Manager of Hospitality Operations as well as act as the liaison for the Director of Operations at ANA Bar & Eatery and will require close coordination with other relevant stakeholders across the two companies (Culinary, Creative, Communication, Finance, etc.).

Location:

This role will be principally located in Manhattan West’s Hudson Yards – training may take place at the Brewery and our East Village location. The Bronx Brewery Hudson Yards is located at 20 Hudson Yards Unit 207, New York, NY 10001.

Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for ensuring that guests have a positive and memorable experience both at The Bronx Brewery Hudson Yards Tap Room + Kitchen and at any off-site events or collaborations. In this role, your primary tasks will involve connecting with potential clients and negotiating their contracts. You will also complete paperwork for the booking that outlines their needs as well as our staffing needs, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable with vendor management and event planning. This is a performance-based sales position that gives you the opportunity to capitalize on your own success. The ideal candidate must have a passion for craft beer and unique bites, for learning the details of the beers we produce, and for speaking enthusiastically about The Bronx Brewery and its amazing offerings.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Developing a strategy for achieving revenue and brand development/awareness goals through curation and organization of branded and private events as well as ongoing Hospitality programming
  • Identifying, implementing, and managing workflow and organizational tools and platforms for event recruitment, booking, communication, billing, etc., and ensuring relevant stakeholders have access to those tools for streamlined communication and collaboration
  • Managing clear and multiple channels of communication with customers, partners/collaborators, vendors, and other relevant parties for the recruitment, curation, and organization of Hospitality events and programming
  • Working with Creative resources across both companies for the development of all relevant creative assets, strategic and tactical use of social media, email newsletter, and physical platforms for event communication/promotion and ongoing content capture/sharing
  • Working with the General Manager – Hospitality Operations, Management Team, Operators, and Culinary associates at both companies to ensure a clear understanding of event and programming schedules, facility/layout capabilities and requirements, menus, etc.
  • Working with the General Managers and Hospitality Teams at both companies to develop, maintain and ensure the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, and guest experience during all events & programming
  • Assisting the Hospitality Teams at both companies to execute marquee branded and private events, etc.
  • Maintaining a guest-facing presence on the floor at BXBHY with closing duties no less than two nights a week.
  • Maintain BXB Standards to the highest degree during on and offsite service and event execution.
  • Ongoing review and assessment of the financial performance of the events and programming line of business with the General Managers and Finance functions across both companies

What You Bring To The Table

  • 2+ years of hospitality experience with a strong, consistent floor presence
  • 2+ years of Hospitality Sales Experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience supervising a team is strongly preferred
  • NYC DOH Food Handlers License and/or ServSafe Certificate
  • Strong event sales and management skills, proven track record of organizing and executing on- and off-premise events
  • Excellent problem-solving and process-driven delegation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to understand and navigate corporate leadership and decision-making structures
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule with late nights and holidays

Compensation

As a valued member of our teams, your compensation will include the following elements:

  • Salary based on experience ($60000 to $65000) plus monthly commission at 5% of total event sales revenue
