Quality Officer
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to quality requirements specified in the quality manual.
- Should proactively identify non compliances and ensure non complying products are promptly segregated, reviewed and sorted. This includes incoming raw materials, finished goods, packing materials and materials under work in progress.
- Continuously monitor process and process limits as specified in quality manual and ensure SOP are consistently adhered to. Identify non compliances and ensure corrective action plan is identified and implemented.
- Ensure on-line product quality monitoring & compliance
- Regular verification of correct functioning of critical process equipments like weighing balances, metal detectors, sifters, molders, oven, slicers and coders
- Ensure basic hygiene, food safety & GMP requirements are complied with in manufacturing
- Ensure critical to food safety processes are being complied
- Ensure wrappers are checked for presence of correct addresses, MRP, veg logo, mandatory declarations & necessary documentation maintained
- Ensure sufficient samples are checked for weight at every stage of production
- Ensure systems are followed during change in date, shift, Officer’s name with necessary documentation
- Share complaint as & when they are received with concerned supervisors, operators & shop floor workers & make CAPA
- Periodically review improvement in the overall quality of processes and systems at the factory
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse quality trends, proactively identify potential quality failures and ensure appropriate preventive action.
- Ensure support to quality team for vendor quality audits as and when required.
- Ensure compliance to testing frequencies and sample sizes as identified in the quality manual. Verify test results are within specification limits and flag off exceptions/violations to quality manager for appropriate actions.
- Ensure effective implementation of quality walls, defectives quality inspection etc. Identify corrective actions and verify for implementation of agreed corrective actions.
- Ensure quality records are upto date and appropriately archived.
- Participate in central quality audits and respond appropriately to audit observations, agree on findings, identify corrective action plans and verify for implementation.
- Review quality complaints, FBC complaints and ensure appropriate root cause analysis is carried out and agreed actions implemented upon.
- Ensure Hygiene standards are consistently maintained in the plant and take appropriate actions/ensure escalations whenever non compliances to standards are observed.

- Ensure adherence to core BIL processes like KPI setting, Mid Year Review & Annual assessment
- Interaction with All Production Officers, Quality Manager, Senior Manufacturing Manager, HR Manager, Plant Head, RM Stores Incharge, Plant procurement officer.
OTHERS:
- Manage Quality & Food safety standards of QC lab as per BIL manual.
- Support the Senior QC officer in Regulatory compliance.
