Position Summary:

The Finance Manager will oversee and maintain the day-to-day finance operations for the organization and its related entities. In addition, they will provide support to the VP and Director of Finance for larger-scale projects and the overall financial well-being of the franchise. The Finance Manager will be well-versed in all accounting and finance-related areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage budgets, proformas and financial forecasts
  • Maintain and update monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages and dashboards
  • Manage monthly and YTD variance analysis and present key points to department heads
  • Work across functions to develop insights and recommendations that optimize the P&L
  • Collaborate with department leaders regarding the information needed to track and report on key performance indicators
  • Assist with all NHL League level reporting including, but not limited to, monthly F&B, off-season tickets, box office ticket reporting, sponsorship, annual benefits, and more
  • Create and maintain financial models needed for periodic league reporting
  • Identify business trends and recognize revenue-generating or expense-saving measures
  • Build comprehensive models to analyze internal and external opportunities
  • Conduct benchmarking to continually assess and advance competitive position
  • Assist with additional functions as needed in the Finance Department

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work and communicate with others including the executive leadership team
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L management responsibilities
  • Strong business intuition and understanding of underlying drivers of business value

  • Work in tandem with the accounting manager to ensure monthly timelines are concise
  • Fluent in Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook, NetSuite

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Master’s degree or CPA a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Sports & Entertainment industry is a plus
