Physician Assistant / Hematology Oncology
JOB SUMMARY
- With the supervision of a Physician, performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient’s current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PA’s are privileged by CCAD and within the DoH guidelines. PA’s provide advanced care to patients with complex, acute, critical and chronic health conditions. PA’s practice in a setting that requires the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to manage acute and chronic health problems. PA’s also practice in the settings requiring complex monitoring and therapies and high intensity medical/surgical interventions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA. Incumbent must obtain applicable State licensure before employment, license to prescribe or be eligible. Must have approved Physician Supervision Agreement and/or signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement. Must be privileged by CCAD. Certificate to prescribe (CTP) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based upon work setting.

Estimated Service Area
This strategically located multi-specialty tertiary care facility with adjacent clinic houses five clinic floors, three diagnostic and treatment levels, and thirteen floors of critical and acute inpatient units totaling 364 beds (expandable to 490). Additional space has been incorporated for operational and support departments, retailers, a conference center, and a high-fidelity clinical simulation center.
