Position Summary
Columbia Global (CG) is a groundbreaking new initiative that aims to establish a unifying and strategic platform to promote and facilitate impactful engagement of the University’s faculty, students, and alumni with the world, to enhance understanding, address global challenges, and advance knowledge and its exchange.
Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager (SHRM), Columbia Global seeks a Human Resources Coordinator to provide a broad range of support for human resources, academic affairs and payroll functions. The incumbent will perform tasks required to support, administer and execute day-to-day human resources functions including but not limited to processing employee life cycle transactions, talent acquisition, onboarding/offboarding, records management and retention, training and development, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Support the management of HR systems such as PAC, TalentLink, DIA, and TLAM and develop as HR subject matter expert;
Work collaboratively with CU Payroll, CUHR and the Office of the Provost to address and resolve employee changes and updates;
Prepare and process Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for all employee transactions and ensure information is accurately processed in the PeopleSoft @ Columbia (PAC) system. Prepare and submit additional compensation transactions;
Manage bi-weekly payroll, including oversight for all entries and contact managers to ensure the timesheets are approved by the payroll deadline;
Function as a Departmental Time Administrator (DTA) for the Time, Labor and Absence Management (TLAM) system and provide TLAM training and guidance to managers and staff as needed. Ensure timely and complete submission, send reminders, and follow-up on outstanding items;
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information in Columbia Global database(s)/tracking mechanisms Create, maintain and update departmental personnel files;
Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding and orientation processes for new employees and assist with offboarding for current employees as well as the processing of academic appointments;
Help organize departmental training and development initiatives;
Participate in the development of employee relations practices and engagement activities to foster positive employer-employee relations. Coordinate employee surveys and give actionable insights to improve the employee experience;
Assist with performance management process;
Address employment-related inquiries from a variety of stakeholders (i.e. applicants, employees and managers) and redirect appropriately;
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR practices and changing policies. Monitor and update the posting of mandatory HR and employment notices in all appropriate locations;
Perform other assignments, projects, and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and at least two years of professional work experience, preferably in an administrative capacity.

Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and use professional discretion with sensitive matters.
