Lead Instructor

Contractors State License Schools is hiring! For over 35 years now, we have led the way in helping contractors get licensed with the State of California, create their own businesses, and SUCCEED. We are seeking a full-time (exempt) Lead Instructor to manage the education staff at our Southern California schools as well as in our online education programs!

Job responsibilities include:

• Maximize the performance (quality and effectiveness) of our instructors.
• Develop, review, and improve educational programs as needed.
• Be knowledgeable on various teaching methods and construction related programs.
• Respond to student and staff inquiries about our educational programs.
• Stay informed with CSLB license requirements, rules and regulations, changes.
• Ability to teach adult students about construction related material.
• Assist in all aspects of recruiting, evaluation, and retention of qualified instructors.
• Conduct training of new instructors.
• Be available for one-on-one tutoring sessions with students.
• Complete and submit instructor staff-related forms (timesheets, risk management forms, materials/supplies tracking
forms, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Track and report instructor attendance.
• Attend meetings, seminars, workshops, and training sessions as needed.
• Available to substitute for instructors as needed.

Additional requirements include:

• Travel to our various schools located throughout southern California.
• A high school diploma.
• Possess at least 3-4 years’ relevant work experience, and good oral and written skills for effective communication.
• Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong attention to detail.
• Have comprehension on procedures and policies that are associated in their field
• Must have the desire to motivate and manage employees and improve their performance
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (preferred, not required).

Experience:

• Teaching: 2 years (required)
• Construction industry: 3 years (required)
• Project management: 3 years (required)

Language:
• Spanish (preferred but not required)

Compensation: $64,480/year + regular bonuses (dependent on company profitability)
