Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Social Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in data analysis, working with SQL databases, and querying.
- Experience relaying communications between technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with other scripting/programming languages (e.g. Python).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, with strong attention to detail and organization to complete workload in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Excellent business judgment and analysis skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to speak and write in one or more European languages (e.g., German, French, Italian, etc.) fluently.

The EMEA News and Books Partnerships team works to transform Google’s relationships with the news industry in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa region. We build relationships that solve users’ needs, advance our partners’ goals, and further Google’s mission. Our team provides meaningful solutions — from helping news organizations grow and transform their business and find new audiences, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic and reputational value.
In this role, you will collaborate across different Product Areas at Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our strategic partners, including news associations and trade bodies, to grow our business and theirs, build trust, and deepen relationships. You will collaborate closely with other teams at Google to highlight our work to tell great stories about our engagement with the news industries and influence key opinion formers in our region.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial analytical support for strategic business discussions with European news publishers on Google’s regulatory compliance with the EUCD.
- Execute and automate data pulls, financial modeling, and offer calculations required for business discussions.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis of financial data and its validation per requests of various cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Economist, Product).
- Prepare and maintain documentation about utilized processes and data sources Work closely with the Product team on the development of code-based infrastructure for financial modeling.
- Engage closely with Product, Economist, Legal, and Partnerships stakeholders on developing, maintaining, and upgrading financial tools and processes required for regulatory compliance in the EU
