As a Finance Clerk, you will perform general accounting and administration activities related to the international and

Canadian corporate credit card systems such as issuing cards, managing credit limits, assisting with the training staff, and tracking on-time submission of employee and contractor expense reports. This also involves working closely with the Billing & AR Supervisor on continuous improvement initiatives.

General Accountabilities

  • Responsible for corporate banking and cash administration (international, US, Canadian) including preparation of bank reconciliations, weekly and 3-month rolling forecasted cash flow, monitoring foreign exchange rates, Canadian and international bank fund transfers, foreign currency transactions, banks loans, funding letters of credit and intercorporate loans documentation.
  • Perform general payroll accounting including, statutory and company burden allocations, bonus and severance allocations, and pension, OPEB, and SERP accounting entries for all Kinectrics companies. Completions of all balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll and burden (including pension, OPEB, SERP) related accounts.
  • Responsible for administering the PayPal account for the ArcPro software and other credit card payment methods for all Kinectrics Companies Receivable related to Project Services/Materials or Mask Sales
  • Complete all HST, GST, VAT, and withholding tax filings and payments to the tax manager.
  • Coordinate the Kinectrics vehicle license plate and CVOR renewals.
  • Ensure monthly completion of journal entries and balance sheet binders.
  • Back up support for accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and input data to appropriate business and accounting systems.
  • Process financial transactions, checking for accuracy and making the necessary corrections.
  • Assist in the analysis of costs and revenues; review and reconcile other various accounts for the balance sheet and income statements as requested.
  • Process updates to databases; perform clerical duties; perform calculations and update statistical spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

  • Completion of a three-year community college program in accounting or equivalent training and experience
  • Knowledge of Concur expense reporting system
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and Canadian GAAP
  • Knowledge of payroll and burden accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP FICO and PS modules
  • Demonstrated capability of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, etc.
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Good customer service skills and ability to deal with internal and external contacts
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required
  • A period of at least 6 years in an accounting environment is considered necessary and preferred enrollment in the CPA program
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in resolving problems
