Job Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for helping the Security Manager and his deputy to manage the Security department. This person is in charge of controlling and ensuring the correct application of all the procedures of his service and works in close collaboration with his head of service as well as all the departments of the hotel.

The supervisor must demonstrate a very good team spirit, have an excellent presentation, good speech, and good interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele. Organized, this person manages the daily life of the service both at the operational and administrative levels.

His organizational and managerial qualities are also necessary in day-to-day team management in order to develop the skills of each of his employees. A leader, diplomat, and attentive listener, she is also responsible for managing complaints, whoever she is dealing with.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team under his own responsibility in the absence of the department head;
  • Manage possible problems and dissatisfactions encountered by customers with the support of his direct or indirect manager;
  • Encourage, supervise, and coach the team;
  • Help the Security Director to establish schedules, manage leave and overtime recovery for his team in line with the hotel’s activity;
  • Follow up with the various service providers;
  • Analyze and evaluate the work of security employees and submit annual evaluations within the time limits requested by the Human Resources Department;
  • Actively participate in department meetings. Take care of the report.
  • Provide customers with pleasant, efficient, and professional service in accordance with Four Seasons standards;
  • Provide support for the integration and training of new employees and help them in their tasks;
  • Take note of the instructions of the day and follow them during the work shift;
  • Transmit the day’s instructions precisely and clearly so that the next team has all the information necessary to carry out a quality follow-up;
  • Train hotel security employees;
  • Ensure the follow-up and archiving of objects found in the establishment;
  • Help customers who have difficulty using the safe available in their rooms;
  • Help customers to open their room door in the event of loss or non-functioning of their key;
  • Welcome visitors, and members of external companies by registering them;
  • Guide visitors/customers as soon as they enter the hotel and answer any questions they may have;
  • Know the different services and benefits offered to customers and the schedules of the different points of interest in the hotel;
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the security post and the staff entrance;
  • Participate in operations manager shifts (“Lobby Lizard”);
  • Perform any other task related to the functions;

  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Be organized, meticulous and resourceful;
  • Standing/walking, squatting, kneeling repeatedly during the day;
  • Carry, and move loads of varying weight while respecting appropriate gestures and postures;
  • Perform continuous video surveillance;
  • Maintain sustained vigilance to the various alarm signals;
  • Be able to manage several calls taken;
  • Demonstrate discretion in the management of certain sensitive situations;
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes;
  • Previous experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar position;
  • Diploma or certification from an accredited security school;

Core Responsibilities


  • Manage and coach the security team in the absence of the department head;
  • With support from upper management, manage all problems and complaints that may be brought to your attention by guests;
  • Motivate, supervise, and coach the team;
  • Help the director of security with regards to scheduling, holiday management, and overtime management always while keeping in mind hotel operation’s needs;
  • Follow up on various requests;
  • Analyse and evaluate the work of the security team, remit all evaluations in a timely fashion to the Human Resources director;
  • Actively participate in department meetings and prepare appropriate summaries;
  • As per Four Seasons standards, offer guests a pleasant, efficient, and professional service;
  • Act as a support in the onboarding and training process of new employees and help them complete their tasks;
  • Follow up on daily tasks/requests to ensure they are followed up on;
  • Transmit in a clear and direct manner all daily follow-ups/tasks to be done to the next shift so as to ensure they have all the necessary information and can follow up appropriately;
  • Train all hotel security staff;
  • Ensure proper storage and follow-up are done for all lost and found items in the hotel;
  • Help guests who are experiencing problems with their in-room safe;
  • Help guests access their rooms in the event of a lost or defective room key;
  • Welcome visitors, contractors, and external vendors and register them in the visitors log;
  • Help direct visitors and guests upon arrival at the hotel and answer any questions they may have;
  • Have excellent knowledge of the services and amenities offered by the hotel as well as their schedules;
  • Ensure that the security spaces and employee entrances are kept clean at all times;
  • Participate in Lobby Lizard shifts;
  • Perform all other related tasks;

  • Discrete when handling matters of a delicate nature;

  • 2-3 years experience in hotel security or a similar position;
  • Post-secondary degree or certification from a certified school in security or related field;
