Qualification

Graduate or Post graduate in Physics (or) Chemistry (or) Material Science

Relevant Industry

R&D based company preferred in gemstones

Job Description / Responsibilities

Assisting in setting up experiments in consultation with the R&D head
Performing technical duties related to the laboratory activities, including giving technical assistance
Giving assistance regarding laboratory procedures, location and use of materials, and the operation of equipment
Setting up and dismantling of apparatus and equipment for demonstration, as requested and detailed by the head.
Repairing minor damage in the apparatus or arranging for repairs of a more extensive nature
Constructing simple experiments with own ideas
Contributes to a safe environment in the laboratories by keeping safety regulations, explaining safety procedures to individuals using the laboratories
Up-dating the general stock record system of the laboratory
Ensuring that all equipment is kept maintained and serviceable
Other straightforward tasks, not listed here, which occasionally may be required
Efficient operation of the laboratory

Essential Skills

Initiative to understand the business and bear responsibilities across all functions of R&D
Knowledge of R&D lab equipment and machines
Very well Organized and Planned for short term and long-term tasks
Well versed with MS office and basic computer operation

Desired Profile of the candidate

Required strong organisational and team working
Written and oral communication should be good (in English/Hindi/Tamil)
Self-starter in an entrepreneurial environment
Eagerness to be part of a start-up with long term commitment and growth opportunities
