- Job Summary:
Supervises a work crew and participates in the performance of a variety of repetitive, unskilled and semi-skilled manual work tasks in connection with the construction, maintenance or repair of roads, grounds, buildings and equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.This is the working supervisory level in the series. This class differs from that of General Laborer II in that the General Laborer III, in addition to performing a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks as the major work assignment, supervises the work of a crew in performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual work tasks; the General Laborer II performs a variety of semi-skilled manual work tasks involved in the maintenance of roads, buildings, other structures and equipment or performs refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor.
- Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must meet all the requirements for the position they are seeking as of the date of the application, unless otherwise specified. Unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently.Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour workweeks. Part-time experience is pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours/week is equivalent to six months of experience, not one year. Also, hours worked in excess of 40 hours/week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours/week is equivalent to one year of experience, not one and a half years.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Experience and Training:
Three (3) years of manual, unskilled and semi-skilled work experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.Licensure/Certification Requirements:
