Healthcare Assistants have completed their sophomore year of college at minimum. LLYC hires one Singing Hills Healthcare Assistant and two Echo Valley Healthcare Assistants. It is preferred that candidates be pursuing a medical degree.

Healthcare Assistants must be organized and loving caregivers. They must also possess the ability to remain calm, be quick on their feet, and follow protocol in emergency situations. They are directly managed by the Camp Nurse.

Healthcare Assistants are the front lines of our medical care for campers and staff. They administer medications and treat minor injuries and illnesses under the supervision of the Camp Nurse or Doctor. They maintain our medical logs as well as coordinate medical coverage and treatments with the visiting Camp Doctor. Healthcare Assistants are also on call in case of medical emergencies day or night.

The position of Healthcare Assistant offers an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on medical experience in a high-volume healthcare clinic. Assistants will directly observe frequent and varied diagnoses as well as participate in the treatment of patients for numerous types of minor traumas and illnesses. Healthcare Assistants also have opportunities to join in the camp program and events as well as be involved in relational ministry to campers as their schedule allows.
