Hiring Philadelphia, Pharmacists are responsible for aiding customers by compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications, providing pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals, monitoring customers’ drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications, and providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications.

We are looking for a qualified pharmacist to assist customers by interpreting symptoms and providing immediate treatment or to successfully refer customers to a suitable physician. You will also prepare pharmaceuticals by reviewing and interpreting physicians’ directives and detecting any therapeutic incompatibilities.

About Organization

Jerry is a graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy and has been the owner of Fairmount Pharmacy since. He is married to Joann, also a pharmacist, and has two children. His son, Joseph, a Northeastern University School of Pharmacy graduate is working in the pharmaceutical industry. His daughter Nicole, an Indiana University graduate is coaching collegiate Field Hockey in Indiana.

Community pharmacy has been Jerry’s passion since an early age. He began his pharmacy career as a 9th grader working in a neighborhood pharmacy in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia. Upon graduating from pharmacy school, Jerry worked in pharmaceutical sales for Eli Lilly and Company until being presented with the opportunity to purchase.

Fairmount Pharmacy along with his childhood friend. Since Jerry has been committed to not only growing his business but to giving back to the community as well. Through the years Jerry has partnered with local community health centers to develop novel ways to increase patient access to prescription medications for uninsured, under-insured, and homeless populations.

Responsibilities 

  • Keeping accurate customer records.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, and charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
  • Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
  • Performing other administrative tasks when needed.

Skills & Requirements

  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications, used by pharmacies, such as MEDITECH and Mediware.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
