ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Ute Meadows is a high achieving elementary school, located in the Ken Caryl area of Jefferson County. We believe our students deserve to be healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. We aim for our students to walk out our doors as creators, collaborators, problem finders/solvers, explorers, and connectors.

Our teachers use the workshop model across content, and analyze data in order to guide instruction through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model and a Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS). We utilize Restorative Practices to support the development of healthy relationships, providing students and staff opportunities to take responsibility for their behavior and lives. We do not assign homework outside of reading and use Thinking Maps systemically. We consistently utilize technology in instruction and have implemented a 1:1 student to device ratio. We have strong Library, Art, Music, and PE programs, and are a Healthy School with a focus on the whole child and movement breaks. Students may participate in our KUTE news program, a track meet with area schools, instrumental music, and Evening of the Arts. We have an active PTA whose fundraising efforts greatly impact our school. We are honored to support our center-based program which includes students with significant support needs.
