Greenspoon Marder’s Downtown Los Angeles office is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to assist our Bankruptcy department. This role provides a wonderful team setting and is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven individual.

The Legal Assistant will be responsible for enhancing attorney effectiveness by providing information management support and assisting the attorney in the delivery of legal services, including but not limited to assisting with clients and administrative duties. Please see below for more details!


Your Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal and non-legal administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
  • Ability to prepare documents with minimal instruction, including motions, notices, orders, fee apps., petitions and schedules
  • Manage attorney’s contacts and calendar(s)
  • Monitor ECF notices
  • Update client contacts
  • Process expense reports and check requests
  • Billing – prepare invoices, create cover letters, and send out invoices and reminder statements
  • Enter time for timekeeper and print reports as requested
  • Find and retrieve information from files
  • Scan petitions into the database


  • Knowledge of e-filing documents via ECF in Federal, State, and local courts, including the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the United States Trustee’s Office.
  • Knowledge of formatting, drafting, and preparation of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional organizational and file management skills are a must
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Capable of handling confidential client information in a professional and trustworthy manner


Preferred Education and Experience

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or Legal Assistant preferred
  • Knowledge of IManage, Best Case, and Pacer, preferred
