Mammography Technologist (Mammographer)
Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Mammography Technologists to support operations at the San Diego VA Medical Center located at 3350 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92161. Full-time and Per Diem positions with competitive packages are available. Personnel must be familiar with all radiographic diagnostic fluoroscopy, surgery procedures, portable (including C-Arm), and routine general diagnostic exams.

Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of radiology mammography examinations, from screening mammograms to very difficult diagnostic and magnification views and needle localizations
- Continuously monitors and documents the performance of the imaging equipment dedicated to mammography
- Performs extensive quality control test at defined daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly intervals as required by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA); which is further outlined in VHA directives and guidance and as determined at each individual facility to assure test accuracy and deviation correction
- Quality control testing may also occur when problems are suspected and after service of preventative maintenance
Qualifications
- Be a registered mammography technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with (R) and (M) specific disciplines
- State of California CRT license, Mammo license, and Fluoroscopy permit required
- Shall have, and maintain, current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR as certified by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of two years of experience in mammography with any type of vendor digital mammography equipment while performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, quality control, and breast specimen radiography
- Must be current on continuing education and continuing experience to meet MQSA requirements
- Documented proof in digital mammography, and digital breast tomosynthesis
Pay Range: $43.43 – $71.50 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
