Mechanical Engineer- I/II
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Deliver: Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for performing design and analysis to support research and development of UAV’s. Assist in creating a consistent design language/theme for all aspects of a product. Develop practical and innovative mechanical designs, for the engineering of equipment, systems and components. Work with R&D team in re-designing existing products and creating new designs. Generate comprehensive component specifications.

To contribute to a sustainable top-class mechanical design team that can consistently deliver world- class tightly integrated, high reliability electro-mechanical intelligent systems.
- Mature engineering practices: To work with first principles to achieve highest robustness and value addition of engineering solutions. Using standardized technology/process/tool choices for continuously improving reliability, predictability and usability; to keep up-to-date with the latest materials, manufacturing technologies and methodologies; establish practices to deliver design that is highest performance, reliable, scalable to manufacture, easy to maintain and re-usable.
- Learning and Growth: Motivated to evolve as a senior contributor in the engineering roles in the company in a very short period, based on demonstrated performance.
Technology Domain:
- Rugged, all-weather, portable electro-mechanical system design
- High precision multi-actuator control mechanisms.
- High density portable electronics enclosure design.
- Small aero structures, high-performance plastics, composite materials.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Essential:
- A hard core mechanical engineer with strong mechanical design instincts.
- Hands-on expertise in housing electronic & circuit assembly
- Has a record of successful execution of hardware products/components
- Worked in an Indian or global company that delivers high quality systems integrating mechanical hardware and electronics and/or studied at reputed academic institution while demonstrating initiative and rigor to learn and create innovative engineering solutions
- Has deep appreciation for technology evolution and modern engineering practices, quality assurance, testing, configuration & release management, defect management, and associated tools, deployed in world-class product development processes
- Can actively contribute to problem-solving of engineering problems in new or old products/technologies.
- 2+ years of industry experience in a design Engineer role
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering

Desirable and Optional:
- Thorough understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics.
- Experience in assembly design of hard disk/ laptop/ mobile/ printer
- Experience with composite materials (carbon, aramid, glass)
- Deep insight of high performance plastics and moulding techniques
- Thorough experience with PLM tools
- Hands on experience in product development of reliable portable electronics like mobile phone, tablet etc
- Experience in UAV design and manufacturing industry
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Sound knowledge of CAD software
