Nanny Requirements

Our high standards require nannies to:

  • Be legally permitted to work in France.
  • Possess a minimum of three years of full-time, long-term experience as a nanny, child carer, or teacher.
  • Have three professional and contactable references.
  • Native or fluent level in English.
  • Clean criminal record from France and/or your native country.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Have a valid passport or willingness to acquire one (if the role requires traveling).

Roles & Responsibilities of a Nanny

Your responsibilities as a nanny will vary depending on the family you work for. Though, here are a few common responsibilities that may

Expect as part of your role:

  • Developing the children’s ability to understand and speak.
  •  English through different playful methods and pedagogies.
  • Maintaining a safe, happy and engaging environment for the children. 
  • Organizing creative activities or educational games (including drawing,
  •  crafts and physical sport).
  • Preparing children’s meals and feeding the children (or bottle feeding For babies).
  • Changing diapers and bathing.
  • Accompanying children to the park, for walks, as well as to extra-curricular activities. 
  • Assisting with homework. 
  • Reading books to the children. 
  • Collecting books from the library for the children. 
  • Arranging playdates. 
  • Organizing the children’s laundry. 
  • Dropping off and/or picking up children from school.
  • Organizing and tidying of children’s bedrooms and play spaces. 
  • Administering basic medication, under the parent’s instruction.
  • Teaching children important social behaviors, such as sharing, respect for others, and helping with household chores. 
  • Taking care of children when they are sick.
  • Performing light household tasks. 
  • Working alongside parents in the overall development of the child/ren.

Sometimes the family must ask you to do light housekeeping tasks, such as small grocery shopping, loading and unloading the dishwasher, keeping spaces in the household tidy, and running family errands.
