Job Description

Alteo is looking for a Network Security Analyst for a permanent position based in Montreal.

Reporting to the Manager, Network Services, you will be responsible for system design and ensuring optimal system reliability, availability, maintainability, security, and recoverability. In collaboration with other IT groups and analysts, you will contribute to the resolution of incidents and problems on these systems.

You will be responsible for improving, executing, and maintaining the organization’s network security infrastructure development plans; directing and driving associated continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a highly optimized, stable, recoverable, and secure service. You will also be responsible for quality control of project deliverables,

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure and maintain network security infrastructure, security systems, and monitoring tools ensuring optimal system reliability, availability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and improve processes and procedures in line with the organization’s strategy and ITSM/industry best practices. Is responsible for quality control of deliverables and quality assurance of related processes and methodologies.
  • As a senior technical expert, provide third-level support for complex incidents and requests affecting multiple end users. Identifies the root causes of incidents and problems and develops solutions to eliminate them. Ensure continuity of service.
  • Monitor and support network and network security systems to ensure correct functionality and performance and to identify service-affecting events. Ensure compliance with network security industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with IT security analysts to address/prevent network security incidents/vulnerabilities.
  • Execute, maintain and continually improve the organization’s network security infrastructure development strategy. Plan and execute enterprise asset management lifecycle practices.
  • Provide coaching, documentation, knowledge transfer, and training of IT staff in system and service design. Maintain ongoing communication and documentation with support teams regarding troubleshooting, upcoming changes, and network security infrastructure development strategy. Maintain a high level of knowledge of existing and new computer networks and network security technologies.
  • Manage and oversee systems DRP and security best practices, including patch management.
  • Create plans and lead initiatives to improve network security infrastructure architecture, network performance, and network security enhancements.
  • Ensure ITSM practices are in place and processes are adhered to.
  • Plan and carry out projects, coordinate tasks to meet new requirements, or solve problems according to established ITSM procedures.
  • Assist the supervisor in the quality control management of relationships with suppliers.

Profile :

  • DEC / BAC in computer science or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Solid experience in Cisco routers, switches, and security appliances (VPN, FireWall, IDS-IPS)
  • Certifications Cisco: CCNA, CCNP
  • Advanced knowledge and full experience of EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols; advanced knowledge of OSI 7-layer model, TCP/IP, and related protocols; advanced knowledge and experience of IP addressing and subnetting design; segmentation using VLAN (802.1q) and trunking;
  • Knowledge of IPv6.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using network management/diagnostic tools (e.g. Cisco Prime, Nagios, NetDisco, Sniffer, Fluke).
  • Extensive knowledge of the following network security services and systems: Fortinet FortiGate UTM, Cisco ASA Series Firewalls, Web Content Filtering, Web Application Firewall (WAF), IPS/IDS, Wireless Network Security.
  • Experience designing and supporting network services such as DHCP, DNS, DDNS, Radius, and Active Directory.
  • Extensive experience configuring and maintaining Cisco switches and routers.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with operating systems such as Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and driven, with great attention to detail. Must be able to function effectively and efficiently, both independently and as a member of a team.

  • Good level of spoken English (level 4: able to give and understand detailed explanations and descriptions) and written (level 4: able to prepare detailed documentation and correspondence).
