Logistics Intern 

Our client is looking for a talented and qualified logistics intern to join their team. In this position, you will be responsible for all supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing budgets, and organizing storage.

Job Description

• Responsible for all functions which ensure a smoothly run Warehouse, including control of stock, all goods inwards and outwards, packaging, and safety in the warehouse.
• Raise all workshop-based Repairs/RPM jobs
• Raise all spare parts/goods sales orders
• Assess stock usage and maintain correct stock levels, in line with historical stock usage.
• Process purchase orders to suppliers, both prompts and stock orders
• Return incorrect goods orders to Supplier and obtain Supplier invoice credit for returned of incorrect goods
• Receive, re-bag, and write company-used part number labels for new stock in the Warehouse
• Conduct cyclic and end of year stock-takes
• Conduct an investigation into stock discrepancies
• 2nd source parts and products
• Reduce the cost of parts and subcontractors
• Ensure that all technicians’ vehicle spare parts stock levels are calculated and replenished accordingly, on a weekly basis.
• Picking, packing, & dispatching Customer’s orders/repairs
• Follow-up repairs/testing jobs sent to subcontractors,
• Receive and Dispatch all subcontractor repairs/testing jobs
• Work with the office team to exceed a customer’s service expectations when providing work-in-progress status, follow-up, supplying a product/spare part and providing backup support after the product/spare part has been supplied.
• Ensure all loan units are returned from the customer, documented as returned, and returned to loan equipment bays in the warehouse
• Manage all components of the Medical Cables business
• Manage / organize storage areas
• Manage/organize and perform 6 monthly audits on Customer Device Holdings
• Liaise with freight companies to book and follow up deliveries, and obtain Prices of Delivery (pods)
• Minimize relevant expenses i.e. freight, packaging
• Maintain a healthy and safe workplace
• Eliminate conditions and incidents which could result in personal injury or ill health in workshop and warehouse
• Maintain effective day-to-day communication with other staff members
• Achievement of exceptional service relationships with customers
• Ensure compliance with Company’s Policies and Procedures
• Ensure, action and record all company-owned test devices have valid certification/calibration and are always secure.
• Awareness and control of warranty costs to the company
• Assist in continuous improvement of work practices and procedures
• Assist management when required for the preparation of quotations, tender preparations and customer consultation
• Maintain your skills level through training to ensure customer relationships and technical expectations are met.
• Ensure all paperwork requirements and systems data collection processes are strictly adhered to and forwarded in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the company group sales department when called upon to do so
• Field and Workshop Routine Service and Repair of Suction/Medical Gas Technology (Multi-Vendor).
• Field and Workshop Routine Service and Repair of Anaesthesia & Ventilation Technology (Multi-Vendor).
• Field and Workshop Routine Service, AS3551 Inspection and Repair of Bio/Electro Medical Technology (Multi-Vendor).
• Assist in the management of off-site projects, when necessary.
