Full Job Description

• We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable Health Care Assistants to join well-established Nursing Teams around the site of Rampton Hospital.
• Rampton Hospital is one of three highly secure hospitals in the country providing a range of highly specialised services to patients who experience a mental health problem, personality disorder or learning disability combined with a history of offending behaviour.
• The hospital is host to a number of national high-secure services including services for women, learning disabilities and deaf patients.
• We provide a range of treatment pathways for patients with complex needs including psychological, occupational and educational approaches to support their recovery.
• Our Trust offers a comprehensive induction programme and opportunities for continued personal and professional development through ongoing training, education, supervision and appraisals.
• Participate as a member of the nursing team in delivering appropriate care packages with other disciplines as required within a secure environment working within well-established procedures, carrying out care duties with supervision available and close by.
• You will be providing and maintaining a high standard of care, facilitating therapeutic/meaningful activities for patients on the ward.
• Liaising closely with other health and social care professionals as well as patients, relatives and carers.
• Undertake, record and report clinical observations as directed by registered staff.
• Always act in a manner to promote and safeguard the interests and well-being of patients.
• Actively promote a responsible caring attitude at all times, treating all patients with dignity and respect.

Rampton Hospital offers all new staff members a well-being support package to enhance their development. This package includes a comprehensive induction, followed by two weeks on your allocated ward as not part of the compliment. This time will allow you to work with a dedicated mentor to complete a bespoke induction booklet. You will also be allocated a Retention and Wellbeing Team Leader to provide support and supervision for your first 6 months in post. The Retention and Wellbeing Team Leaders are qualified nurses with extensive experience working across a variety of settings within Rampton Hospital.
