Legal Assistant
The Legal Assistant role provides a high level legal and administrative support to the Advocacy Business Area. As a Legal Assistant, you will be working closely and collaboratively with Legal Support Officers, Advocacy Managers and solicitors within the Directorates to provide high level legal and administrative support.
As Legal Assistant you will also liaise closely with the Legal Support Coordinator regarding learning and development opportunities for Legal Support staff.
About the Role:
- Provide general administrative and technological support to the advocates such as preparation and compilation of documents for court, filing documents, and delivery of mail, briefs and other documents.
- Liaising with stakeholders such as OPP Solicitors, police officers, court personnel and legal counsel.
- Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement within the Advocacy team, including participation in projects, committees and working groups where appropriate.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Knowledge of government processes, particularly in indictable crime process and procedure
- The ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated competence in the provision of administrative support in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment
