Amentum is supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Division’s International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP).

ICITAP is a cornerstone of America’s global strategy for combating transnational crime, terrorism, countering trafficking in persons, establishing rule of law and enhancing human rights in developing countries.  Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Corrections Advisor for the Bangladesh Corrections Program. This position requires 20 years of correctional experience in various assignments including five years of demonstrated experience in senior leadership positions in a prison or correctional program. The advisor shall be adept in executing programs and services such as offender security protocols, assessments, and managing high-risk offenders that include documenting behavior, visiting, and institutional associations. Demonstrates an excellent understanding of processes for developing the best correctional practices from the ground up and developing relevant policies and procedures. This position will initially operate on rotational part-time basis; however, it may develop into a full-time position.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as one of ICITAP’s main points of contact for correctional security for the in-country correctional program.
  • Develop security processes, guidance, and standards following correctional best practices, as well as applicable law.
  • Plan, develop, and implement correctional security programs to include emergency response, policies, and procedures that result in the effective management and operation of correctional facilities with a focus on counterterrorism and countering violent extremism.
  • Coordinate all ICITAP-funded corrections activities including technical contributions/preparation and implementation of short-term and long-term training/event schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 20 years of correctional experience with a background in mentoring, advising and training correctional personnel at state, federal, or international levels on correctional topics
  • Previous experience working overseas
  • Previous experience with Correctional Emergency Response
  • Adept in executing correctional security programs and services, offender security protocols, assessments, and managing high-risk offenders that include documenting behavior, visiting, and institutional associations
  • Understand all facets of the correctional system and be able to guide and facilitate interagency sharing and guide the process and what laws support the ability of the U.S. interagency to perform correctional duties abroad.
  • Knowledge of the development, management, and operations of Correctional Emergency Management Systems/teams.
  • Ability to apply his/her understanding of the U.S. corrections process to being relevant and obtainable in various countries.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Waiver.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent field experience of 5-10 years at a managerial level. Two years of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of the preferred education.
  • Experience working with international programs in successfully presenting correctional training programs
  • Previous experience managing correctional security programs
