Poultry Farm Worker

Shift Schedule

Flexible arrangements, generally starting between 7.00am -7.30am, and finishing between 11.30.am -3.30pm. Willing to work weekends and public holidays when and if required.

About Us

The Double Jump Rd property is a commercial free range broiler (poultry) farm. We pride ourselves on excellent bird welfare, well maintained sheds and free ranging areas. This farm has been leased and operated by the same owner providing excellent poultry for 12 plus years.

The Role

This role directly reports to the farm manager (owner), with potential for work skills and career progression. This role will suit an enthusiastic person willing to learn and be trained in all tasks associated with poultry farming. The ideal candidate will be reliable, fit, energetic, enthusiastic, and willing to undertake manual tasks. Prior experience not essential as on the job training is provided. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Adhere to Australian Biosecurity, RSPCA and FREPA standards
Walk sheds to identify and remove unthrifty birds
Walk sheds to adjust feed and drinker lines
Undertake basic repairs and maintenance
General cleaning of machinery and grounds keeping
Operate equipment such as tractors and mowers

Location

14 shed farm located in Mount Cotton (Redland Bay district).

Requirements

Must meet biosecurity – no birds, pigs or anything with feathers at your home (see attachment for more details)
Must be reliable and punctual
Able to drive a manual ute
Own transport to and from work
