You will be responsible for improving the process control of one or more of the disciplines in the FDC, R2R, and SPC, This includes collaborating with Process Engineering, RDA/Metro, and PDE to ensure they are adhering to the Micron Quality.

Standards for Statistical Process Control, FDC, R2R. Additionally, you are responsible for prioritizing inline parameters that need engineering attention, sourcing variation contributors on critical parameters, and providing internal customers.

With SPC performance metrics, and providing CpK metrics to Micron Corporate to be shared with external customers for review, developing/improving/maintaining Fault Detection and Classification strategies at our manufacturing facilities.

Understanding system dependencies, project planning, engaging in cost reduction efforts, and actively participating in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security procedures.

Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

Implementing SPC/FDC Business Process and Best Known Methods

  • Understand the different types of limits used in the SPC/FDC system and drives the proper use of limits throughout the engineering community.
  • Understand proper control techniques and enforces the use of critical parameters, as needed to detect quality deviations.
  • Works with the engineering community to set appropriate goals for SPC/FDC metrics (CpK, %OOC, etc.) on a semi-annual basis or as needed.
  • Utilize worldwide SPC/FDC Business Process to enforce the use of BKMs with regards to SPC/FDC.
  • Participates in SPC/FDC meetings to ensure the best interests of MSB’s internal/external customers are considered with regard to any modifications to the SPC/FDC BP and/or BKM.
  • Regularly attends Process Engineering and/or RDA/Metro meetings to enable the sourcing and elimination of common cause variation.
  • Act as Quality Engineering representative for control limit modification approvals.
  • Frequently reviews critical inline parameters to source variation.

SPC/FDC Training Development

  • Collaborate with the local Workforce Development team to deliver any new updates to the SPC/FDC Business Process, local policies, or procedures.
  • Develop new SPC/FDC-related training material, as necessary.
  • Deliver SPC/FDC-related training material, when necessary, to affected local personnel.

SPC/FDC Metrics Definition and Delivery

  • Collaborate with local engineering organizations to define SPC/FDC-related goals on a regular basis.
  • Provide SPC/FDC metric performance to local engineering teams when available for prioritization.
  • Automate SPC/FDC metric calculations, when necessary.
  • Provide a weekly update to the management for CpK/OOC/OOS/ other related metrics performance.
  • Internal and External Audit Preparation and Participation.
  • Conducts internal audits of inline parameters and the adherence of each parameter to the specifications based on criticality with results then being shared with affected engineering organizations.
  • Prepares material to be reviewed by Customer Auditors during onsite customer visits.
  • Participates in audits (Micron Auditors and External Customer Auditors) that evaluate the SPC/FDC program and works to close any Non-Conformances or Opportunities For Improvement defined by the auditor(s).
  • Participates in Control of Manufacturing/maintaining Process Business processes as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of applied statistical methods, including categorical data analysis, statistical sampling methodology, and applied statistics for quality and productivity improvements, such as SPC, FDC, design of experiments (DOE), multiple regression and ANOVA, nonlinear regression, logistic regression, random/mixed/fixed effects and variance components modeling, statistical reliability methods, nonparametric statistics, survey design and analysis, re-sampling methods, mathematical statistics, and others.
  • Desire to identify and/or work on data analysis projects that will improve product (NAND, DRAM, etc.) yield and quality, reduce costs and cycle time, and optimize business processes.
  • Ability to extract data from different databases via SQL and other query languages and apply data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques.
  • Ability to work with small, big, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Ability to teach short courses in applied statistics to engineers and technical management.
  • Capable of visually summarizing and presenting advanced analytical results and monetary benefits to middle and executive management.
  • General understanding of the back-end operations for component assembly, component test, module/SSD assembly & test, and Finished Goods.
  • Experience with R, JMP, E3, and/or other statistical software including scripting capability for automating analysis (Plus Point).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry applying a variety of statistical methods, including process control and metrology.
  • Minimum B.S. degree in Statistics, Mathematics, and/or Engineering with an emphasis in Applied Statistics.
