What you will be doing – key responsibilities:
- Effective facilitation of all Scrum ceremonies and events including daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
- Support the team to create clear goals and product backlog
- Proactively identify impediments to the team and appropriately resolve
- Introduce new and advanced practices to improve the team and performance
- Continuously refine and improve quality of stories ensuring business value and acceptance criteria are clearly articulated
- Provide coaching and support to team members on agile practices, and mindsets
- Provide coaching and support team members on Agile and Scrum practices and principles to build a great team culture
- Support Scrum of Scrums community of practice with knowledge sharing and toolkit development
- Track and ensure visibility of team metrics and progress of sprints in Jira
- Manage dependencies between teams, and facilitate collaboration and common understanding with stakeholders
- Assist Product Owner with prioritizing user stories and backlog refinement
- Proactively identify impediments and resolve in a timely manner
- Identify and Manage risks & dependencies between teams and vendors
- Effectively collaborate and negotiate with other teams and Scrum Masters to manage cross dependencies and sequencing of deliverables
What you bring – preferred competencies & qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years working as a Scrum Master
- Recognized Scrum Master Certification i.e CSM
- Experience in facilitating KanBan, Scrum and SAFe
- Working knowledge on lean principles and agile at scale
- Experience working in a highly demanding software development environment – including web and mobile
- Working knowledge of Dev/Ops and CI/CD principles, toolsets, and test automation an asset
- Ability to resolve conflict and improve team dynamics
- Superior decision-making, consensus building and conflict resolution skills
- A continuous improvement mindset to drive improvements to the process and team performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical acumen with knowledge of software development – including web and mobile
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting stakeholder expectations
- Experience with the Atlassian suite such as Jira, Confluence, BI reporting tool and Big Picture
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills both in person and written
- A keen and demonstrated interest in learning opportunities to further develop self and community
