Janitor / Caretaker / Cleaner – Housing

We are recruiting for a Janitor (Caretaker/Cleaner) to join our Janitor Services team to provide a safe, secure and clean environment for the tenants of our Housing with Care and Housing with Support schemes.

Working Hours – 37½ hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertake simple unskilled maintenance and basic DIY activities in communal areas and properties.

• Responsible for the upkeep of the housing schemes, including:
  • The cleaning of all inside and outside communal areas to ensure that they are tidy and free of litter
  • The cleaning of windows

• Responsible for the cleaning of empty properties (voids) owned by Saffron in preparation for reletting.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Relevant experience of basic DIY and maintenance skills.

• Possess the following qualities:

• Possess a basic understanding of the specific needs and requirements of vulnerable and older people.

• An awareness of COSHH and Fire Safety would be advantageous, but full mandatory training will be provided.

• The ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision.

• Ability to use a mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) to send and receive emails, access apps and MS Teams for meetings / training.
