A Native English-speaking teacher needed in Shunan City, Yamaguchi, Japan.

Shunan English School (SES) in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, is seeking one native speaker of English to start full-time teaching position for a monthly salary of 250,000 yen with a contract completion bonus of 50,000 to 100,000 yen.

A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university is required, as well as a valid driver’s license. A TESOL or similar teaching degree, and experience teaching English as a second language are preferred but At the moment it is difficult for new teachers to enter Japan therefore candidates within Japan are preferred.

A company car is provided and, for a small insurance fee, is available for private use although teachers may be asked to share cars. National health insurance is available, or, if employees wish, they may purchase health insurance from a private company.

A teacher rents an apartment through SES, key money and deposit will be paid by SES. In addition, SES management will provide language support to teachers to ease the fulfillment of financial obligations, such as the payment of monthly bills. Teachers sign a contract

for one year, with the option to extend the contract at the completion of its term upon mutual agreement of all parties.

SES, a privately-owned company with a staff of both native English speakers (9) and English-speaking Japanese teachers (15+), has been providing instruction in English and other foreign languages.

Currently, SES maintains offices in three cities in Yamaguchi Prefecture, with its main office located in Shunan. In addition to classes taught at its offices, SES offers courses in high schools, colleges, corporate offices, community centers, and private homes. SES also provides translation services.

Our City is located on the southern coast of Yamaguchi Prefecture. It has a population of approximately 150,000 people. Located in western Japan, Yamaguchi has many historic sites and beautiful natural locations, including islands, beaches, mountains and parks. Shunan enjoys a mild climate year-round and is relatively safe from earthquakes and typhoons due to its protected location in the Seto Inland Sea.
