About the Role
We are seeking an Events Assistant to join the Commercial Events team to provide effective and efficient administrative support, to include financial and contractual. The Events Assistant will also be responsible for planning and coordinating several cultivation events for the Trust, and for Somerset House’s key partners and stakeholders.
This is an entry-level opportunity for a highly motivated individual with some commercial awareness, looking to gain experience within the events industry. The role will require the successful candidate to build, establish and maintain strong working relationships across the Trust.
Somerset House offers 12 blank-canvas event spaces, including indoor and outdoor spaces, suitable for staging events of all styles and sizes – ranging in capacity from 10 to 1,500. The Commercial Events team is responsible for managing all commercial hires at Somerset House, from drinks receptions and Christmas parties to fashion shows and film sets.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in an administrative role, or with administrative duties
- Experience with financial tracking and chasing payments
- Worked as part of a large team delivering excellent customer service
- Some experience of planning events and a desire to develop, experience and learn new skills in this area
- Knowledge of working with venue management software such as Priava (desirable)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £25,000 per annum, plus 8% pension employer contributions
