The next five years will see a shift in Tate’s workforce to more closely reflect the UK population. This will require a step change in the attraction and selection of staff and the creation of more diverse talent pipelines for Tate and the sector. One of the ways Tate will achieve this is by creating apprenticeship opportunities that provide high-quality work-based learning experiences.

Tate is offering a unique and exciting apprenticeship opportunity within our Collection Care Division. As a member of the Library and Archive department, the Library and Archive Assistant Apprentice will carry out training on and off the job to achieve the Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship as part of the role.

You will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours that are essential to help you understand the needs of people using specialist library and archive collections in both physical and digital formats, how to organise and manage these resources including promotion and access, and how to provide best practice and customer care in delivering information services. You will spend 20% of your total time completing training as part of your apprenticeship, delivered online by a third-party training provider.

Please note, the successful candidate will be subject to eligibility checks by the training provider as part of the pre-screening process before enrolment. Individuals are only eligible for this role where the apprenticeship will provide a genuine learning opportunity, allow the individual to acquire substantive new skills and where the content of the training is materially different from any prior qualification or a previous apprenticeship that the individual may hold
