Job Description

BLI is looking for experienced and qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers for full-time immersion classes at our school in Old Montreal for the Winter.

• Applicants must be living in Montreal
• Must have a teaching certificate
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and interactive student-centered lessons using the Communicative Language Teaching Approach
• Establish a warm, inviting, and nonjudgmental learning environment for all students
• Maintain a positive attitude and build strong rapport with students
• Adapt teaching methodologies and classroom activities to the varying needs of students
• Adhere to curricular and program standards and objectives
• Use technology and authentic language resources to create a meaningful and varied learning experience
• Enforce school policies and act as an ambassador for the school
• Provide corrective feedback and learning tips to students
• Assign and correct students’ homework
• Assess student progress through regular assignments, tasks, homework, and quizzes
• Enter student attendance daily and enter student grades weekly
• Complete all administrative duties in a timely fashion
• Work as an active member of the staff team and collaborate with fellow teachers
• Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops
• Remain flexible and open to constructive criticism
• Plan student outings with clear learning objectives to immerse students in Canadian culture

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
