Mathematics Teacher (part-time)
Job Description
Kells students come from all corners both of Montreal and of the world. They represent a variety of cultures and cultural perspectives. Responsibilities
● Teach one section of Secondary 2 Mathematics and possibly a second section of Secondary 4 CST
Mathematics
● Understand and apply the curriculum objectives, protocols and culture of Kells Academy
● Attend and contribute to team meetings
● Attend required school events beyond the school day, such as Open House, curriculum night, and parent-teacher interviews
● Take advantage of professional development opportunities
● Communicate regularly with administration, parents and students regarding student progress
● Complete other duties as assigned by the school principal
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or in education; Master’s preferred
● Strong teaching background, including training and experience, in mathematics
● Successful experience working with a diverse student population
● Quebec teaching license
Schedule and Accountability
● Approximately 30-50% of full-time, depending on student enrolment resulting sections needed
● Teaching and supervisory responsibilities fall mainly within the regular school day (8:00 am – 4:15 pm)
Monday through Friday
● Reports to the principal
