Transport Controller

Job Purpose:

Develop and implement transport policies and lead strategies catering to internal and external customers, through the management of internal and contracted providers. Focus on high-quality customer service and consistency in service delivery.

Job Outline: –

Plan and implement Service Level Agreements (SLA) provided by Service Providers (SP) to effectively conduct day-to-day operations. – Forecast and plan the transportation requirements with Line departments and resource planning units considering special operation events and ad-hoc movement. – Interact with internal and external customers to resolve concerns that may impact operation continuity against agreed service and quality delivery standards. Act as a focal point for internal departments to understand their specific transport and logistic requirements. – Engage with external stakeholders (RTA, Dubai Airports, Police, etc) to implement best practices and service improvement measures in order to avoid issues affecting landside and airside transportation and vehicle operations. Assist service providers in conducting customized training sessions as required – Implement and monitor operational procedures to ensure they are adhered to by staff conducting duties and look for ways that will help in improving operational efficiencies. – Lead, support, and supervise transportation division staff to effectively manage contracted services. – Responsible to analyse information based on statistical data and making recommendations in order to ensure that productivity and customer service levels are maintained. Ensure periodic monitoring of resources to meet and exceed customer expectations. – Manage and maintain the reporting and investigation procedures for workplace incidents that result in loss or damage to the Group or third-party assets. Support relevant stakeholders to identify factors and determine necessary remedial action, so that re-occurrence is prevented, in order to uphold quality and safety in all operational aspects. – Responsible for cost management associated with transport activities undertaken during the shifts. Negotiate as required with Service Providers and operating internal departments to promote cost-effective solutions with minimal service failures. – Support the department’s disruption and contingency response planning procedures by actively participating in the Incident Support Unit (ISU) and other critical contingency operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications: – Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) Experience: – 5+ yrs Logistics/Ground Transport or Other. Knowledge/Skills: – Airport Ops experience is essential – Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of public and business administration as applied in a large organization with a view to secure their respective commitment to the department’s goals. – Skill in conflict resolution and negotiation with effective, clear, and persuasive oral and written communications to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and ethnicity. – Must be detail-oriented and possess the good numerical aptitude and the ability to organize projects, prioritize workflow, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately. – Ability to train and supervise technical staff; ability to plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate the work of others; ability to formulate goals, analyze alternative solutions and prepare to budge recommendations. – Actively supports work improvements and/or organizational change by work; recommends inputs to new policies systems and processes to drive innovation and continual improvement.
