SMERF Sales Manager

We are looking for an honest and dynamic person to fill a position for Le Nouvel Hotel & Spa located in Montreal. Our hotel offers a selection of 126 rooms, 44 studios with kitchenettes, and 5 comfortable lofts. We also have 6 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 325 guests as well as a range of services to enhance our clientele’s stay.


We are looking for an honest and dynamic person to fill the position of SMERF Sales Manager for the New Hotel located in Montreal.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, The SMERF Sales Manager Fully develops the SMERF Groups market segment with a focus on production, especially for short-term, top-rated, and less price-sensitive businesses, focusing on soliciting new profitable business. Maximize potential revenue for the hotel by promoting rooms and banquet/meeting spaces while ensuring the guest has the best “meeting” experience possible.

To achieve monthly overnight goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communication, and complete special projects assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.


  • Achieve monthly overnight goals, manage group blocks
  • Follow reservation procedures
  • Participate in business trips targeting specific regions of the group market
  • Solicit accounts in the assigned market segment
  • Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel’s mission
  • Weekly solicitation through calls and inspection visits and follow up
  • Use all possible prospecting sources according to the Sales action plan
  • Follow up on leads from other potential sources
  • Active participation in trade associations and trade shows
  • Achieve the budgeted number of nights, rates and revenue targets
  • Maintain a positive attitude and embrace change

Years of experience required: 2-3 years (s) in sales
