Full Job Description
We work closely with the Surgical on-call team, to ensure the emergency surgical patients journey is of the highest quality care.
The main aim of the service is to rapidly assess, diagnose and treat emergency surgical patients within the same day, improving their patient journey and increasing bed capacity and patient flow within the hospital. At present we discharge up to 80% of the patients through surgical SDEC, they may require further treatment , however this is achieved by patients returning the following day and therefore not requiring a hospital stay.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team assisting with patient care and
other departmental-related duties as directed by a Registered Nurse or
Registered Midwife to ensure kind, safe, and compassionate care for
patients

To work in partnership with the Registered Nurses and MDT in delivering care to patients
- Admit patients
- On-going care and observation of patients on department
- Organise and assist in the transfer of patients for diagnostics and or in patient ward moves
- Perform clinical observations, document and report to RN.
