Job Summary

Responsible for the planning and scheduling of all plant maintenance activities including the coordination of preventive, planned, and unplanned maintenance. Processes and prioritizes work orders examines and determines the best approach for work order completion. Analyzes all planned change parts and makes recommendations for Preventative Maintenance changes. Ensures functional standards are maintained between maintenance, accounting, and production departments along with the accountability of external vendors. Initiates requisitions for maintenance and indirect purchases. Acts as a liaison between the production, engineering, and maintenance departments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensures parts inventory is adequate to support production/drumbeat activity and at the lowest possible level.
  • Leads Pre and Post Drumbeat meetings as well as all Drumbeat activities.
  • Ensures work orders are accomplished and correctly prioritized.
  • Communicates daily with maintenance, production, accounting, and vendors to resolve any issues.
  • Communicates daily and weekly notes on planned and unplanned work
  • Supervisor functions. (Weekend Rotation, Cover absences, First Hours, and ensuring standard work process adherence)
  • Makes equipment numbers, tasks, and task numbers
  • Adds parts to tasks. (PM03 PM01).
  • Verifies accurate tagging in LEDs, PM02 notification, and BDAR
  • Assists Predictive Maintenance supervisor with BDAR review.
  • Requisitions parts and materials as needed for work order packages and non-stocked items.
  • Creates reports as needed
  • Attends weekly departmental RR
  • Identifies and develops projects for continuous improvement within the department and the plant, including reliability improvements
  • Identifies and implements cost-reduction projects in the facility.
  • Reviews work order backlog and rework to determine root cause and provide improvement recommendations
  • Reduces inventory through standardization – (excess inventory)
  • Develops standard work order templates for jobs that are repetitive and require only time planning
  • Works with other planners on updating PMs (hour-based, functionality, recommended changes, etc…)
  • Supports other departments and project work as needed.

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • SAP or CMMS experience
  • Formal planner training or experience
  • Three to five years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Background in Allen-Brady PLC.
  • Machine repair background.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to understand how to work with the customer and who the customer is.
  • Ability to know what the priorities are and how to set those priorities when working with the customer.
