A valuation analyst typically has a wide range of responsibilities,

which can include:

• Conducting research on the financial performance of public companies in the same industry as the client in order to develop comparable data
• Preparing reports detailing findings regarding different aspects of the business being appraised
• Assisting in determining the value of a company’s assets in order to assess its overall financial health Preparing presentations for clients that highlight key findings from the analysis
• Calculating the value of a company’s shares based on financial data such as earnings per share, price-to-earnings ratios, and price-to-book value ratios
• Conducting market research on factors that could affect a company’s value including economic trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activity Analyzing investment opportunities such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate properties
• Identifying risks associated with investment opportunities such as market volatility and interest rate fluctuations Recommending changes to an organization’s capital structure in order to improve its financial position
