About The Position
Under the overall direction of the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Assistant will be responsible for supporting procurement activities in country for different projects with the purchasing of goods and services in accordance with donor regulations and WorldFish policies. The Procurement Assistant must be aware of, and adhered to, WorldFish’ Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
Responsibilities
- Provide support in conducting market research, identify and recommend potential local suppliers. Gather and maintain data on and evaluate local supply sources’ overall performance, (competitive pricing, cost-effectiveness, product quality and timely delivery,).
- Support Procurement Manager & team with the development of tender related documents that conform to both donor and WorldFish procurement policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the WorldFish relevant requester and Core Finance team to manage and track inbound delivery of procurements.
- Maintain procurement tracking records to ensure & update new task, maintain appropriate purchase documentation and obtain the necessary approvals.
- Assists & ensure low value procurement (I;e collect quotation, follow up vendor and process PO) and maintain record properly at One Drive for future reference.
- Ensured best value for money for purchases, identify vendors for sourcing items at a reasonable price and with a timely delivery schedule.
- Communicated with suppliers for changes in shipment, including expedited shipping for shortages.
- Collect & Checked bills for accuracy against purchase orders and send to Finance within the stipulate time frame to settle the payment.
- Identify a number of different supply markets from which a category can be sourced and assess the optimal approach.
- Undertake supplier/customer performance check and effectively translate the outcomes into procurement sourcing. strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance/Supply Chain Management/Management from any accredited institution.
- Fresher with proven required skillset to 1 year experience.
- Effective communication in written and verbal both in Bangla and English.
- Sound computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
Desired Skills/ Experience
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration and/or other directly-related technical fields is required.
- Advance certificate course in Finance/Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution in Bangladesh.
